Gwalior Pav Anna - Jivajirao Shinde
The above image shows reverse of coins having coat of arms of Gwalior state and the year in which coin is minted. The year is in Vikram Samvat i.e. 57 years ahead of Georgian calender [English calender]. Hence these coins are of years 1999-57 = 1942 AD and 1929 AD.
The above image shows obverse of coins having portrait of Shri Jivajirao Shinde Alijabahaddar (26 June 1916 – 16 July 1961). He was the last reigning Maharaja of Gwalior state until when the state was merged in Independent India in 1947.
Prominent politicians Vijayaraje Shinde (Wife)and Vasundhararaje Shinde (Daughter)are his heirs.
